Happy Day!

One of my oldest friends got married this past weekend. Sarah and I went to school together from Midway on, and were pretty close friends most of that time. Even when we weren't hanging out all the time, she was always one of those friends that you can see after a long time and talk to like you've never been apart. Now she is finishing up her Masters in Education, and hoping to get a job at CPS, so we may be seeing more of her! She spent a year right after I got married teaching at a mission school in Bolivia and met her husband to be there. So he is, naturally, Bolivian. That meant that the ceremony was done in English and Spanish, which made it really cool. The translator did a great job, and it was a very God-centered and light-hearted wedding ceremony. The reception was really pretty as well, and the 3 little flower girls (and the 2 year old ring bearer) kept dancing by themselves on the dance floor while everyone ate dinner. You could tell that they just loved their frilly white dresses and felt absolutely beautiful in them; they kept twirling and spinning each other around. It was so cute! :) The bummer of the night was that Josh and I had to leave the reception early because the bank was having their Christmas party at the same time, so we had to make an appearance there. We did run into lots of people we knew, but I would have rather stayed at the reception! Oh well, I had a great time celebrating with Sarah, and I hope we get to hang out with her and her new husband... once he learns English! :) Posted by Picasa
